What is the Gospel?
There is rescue from the wrath and punishment we deserve, but where? It is in the message of the gospel! Who will be saved? Those that go to church? Good people? All people? No, only those who believe in the Gospel will be saved. Christ died for sins in accordance with the Scriptures.
Ephesians 2:1-3
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
Christ, Died, For our Sins, Buried, Raised, Appeared
Paul delivered to the Ephesians the most important message that could ever be delivered. He preached and what did the people do? They believed and were saved by the gospel. A proper study of the Gospel demands the question be asked even of ourselves: Have I believed in this gospel for my salvation? If there is only one God, one Savior, and one Gospel that has the power to rescue from sin, then have you believed in it?
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes
