1 John 5:4-5

March 22, 2020

All who have been born of God have overcome this world because Christ has overcome this world. This is not just pie in the sky thinking, but it had better be reflected in your daily life. Does your life reflect that you have overcome the enslavement of your sinful nature to this sinful world? If you are born of God, you will: Believe that Jesus is who He says He is, love God the Father, love His children, be obedient to Him, and overcome this sinful world. Thank you for listening. The Church at Pecan Creek is located in Denton, Texas. We invite you to join us each Sunday at 10 AM. For more information visit our website, http://www.thechurchatpecancreek.com.

March 8, 2020 God’s love for you is best expressed in the gospel, which is the person and work of Jesus Christ. 1 John 4:7-12
1 John 4:7-12 February 23, 2020 Our love for others is not based on whether or not they deserve it, but on God’s love for us who did not deserve it. It is also based on a command from God. Since you have been regenerated by God, Who is love, you now have the capability and the duty to love others. The supreme example of God’s love for you is that He showed His love by sending the Savior. You are commanded to love your neighbor, your enemies, your spouse, your kids, fellow Christians, and even non-Christians because of the love that you have received from Christ Jesus. 1 John 4:1-6
1 John 4:1-6 February 16, 2020 There were false teachers in the Old Testament, New Testament, and today. We are not to believe all things from those who claim to be Christians. Instead, we are to test the spirits by examining their teaching and their lifestyle. From which the source of their teaching can be exposed: Satan himself. False teachers can easily “look” just like a Christian, but they are not. Jesus called them “ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing.” Paul also said that the false teachers disguise themselves like Satan himself does. The primary issue that John was dealing with was the false teaching about Jesus Christ. John, a true apostle of Christ, spoke the truth about Jesus, however, false apostles, prophets, and teachers had infiltrated and were teaching different doctrines. Thank you for listening. 1 John 3:19-24
1 John 3:19-24 February 9, 2020 Not only do we have a great all-knowing God responsible for our salvation, the righteous Son of God who has take away our sins, but we also have the Holy Spirit within. Salvation is not your own doing, it is a work God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The working of the Holy Spirit is mysterious, but the result of His work is apparent. Those who have been saved by God, through Jesus Christ, desire to keep His commandments because the Holy Spirit is within. Thank you for listening. 1 John 3:11-18 February 2, 2020 Hatred, disdain, or being repelled by the presence of other Christians can reveal that a person is not a Christian. As Christians, we are not to only profess to be Christians, but our Christianity should be evident by the way in which we love other Christians. Thank you for listening.
