Sermon Notes

Acts 26:16-18

In these two verses of Acts 26, we look at what Jesus said to Paul on the road to Damascus. Paul considered Jesus’ death and resurrection from the dead a vital component of the gospel. The resurrection proved that Jesus is the Christ and His resurrection is a pledge or promise that all who believe in Him will rise as well. Many Christians struggle with the thoughts of “saved” or “unsaved” their whole life. If Christ is your Savior, then you are safe, you are secured, you are being preserved by God Himself. Take comfort, as Paul did, in knowing that God is the very one who began your salvation and guards your salvation to its completion. As a believer, what should your response be to such a wonderful truth? Such a message should cause those who are saved to praise God and worship Him that you have “a place among those who are sanctified.”
