Sermon Notes

Acts 21:20-36

In the middle part of Acts chapter 21, a transition has occurred that takes a while for the Jewish Christians to fully grasp. They are connected to Christ, but they are struggling to define what this means to their connection to the Old Covenant and the temple. As years go by, and especially when the temple is fully destroyed, they lose their connections to temple, and more focus is given to Jesus Christ.

Even modern Christians must not allow a violation of certain traditions that we hold dear to cause us to lose sight of the fact that we are the body of Christ. Ex. Music, offering, dress code, or “this is how we have always done it.”

Paul exerted a lot of effort to keep peace and unity among his fellow Christians, and we should do likewise.
