Acts 19:21-41

At the end of Acts 19, we learn of the temple to Artemis in Ephesus and the idolatry it represented as the largest structure in the ancient world, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. What started with one man coming to town proclaiming the gospel a few years earlier, had caused a very noticeable decline in the worship of Artemis, the traffic to the temple, and the sales of temple souvenirs. We learn of Demetrius and the rioters.

The belief system of the people had changed, and there was an immediate change in their behavior. They stopped going to the temple, they stopped buying idols. As they witnessed to others even more people were turning away from idols to the one true God who had provided the one true source of salvation for their sins. These Ephesians no longer believed nor behaved like the rest of the people in their culture. What about you? Has your behavior changed because of your beliefs?
