The Authentic Christian Household

January 31, 2016

Does your household bear the marks of an authentic Christianity? Remember that it starts with each of us here individually. We will all ultimately give an account to God for our own faith (or lack thereof), not for someone else’s. If you have never done so, I urge you to embark on the journey of knowing the one and only true God of the Bible, who revealed his personal name Yahweh and even went so far as to send his Son into the world so that He might save those who are His. Do not delay, put your faith and trust in Him alone today.

This sermon was brought by Andrew Anderson.

The opposite of instructing our children in the Lord, is not telling or teaching them about the Lord. To not tell them is to hide from them the most important information that they need. The Psalmist says “I will open my mouth. .. I will utter.” This means that we are not to assume they know what to believe, we are to assume the opposite of that. We as parents are the ones called on by God to actively teach them about God.

The Roles of Children and Parents
The Roles of Children and Parents
The Christian Home is to be a home where a marriage is for life, the couple is faithful. The husband loves his wife as Christ loves the church. The wife is submissive and respectful as unto the Lord. Children are to be obedient to their parents as God has commanded. Parents discipline and teach their children about God.

The Christian Marriage – part 2
The Christian Marriage – part 2
No institution on earth is more sacred and fundamental than that of family. A healthy relationship between a husband and wife is the cement that holds it together and influences the next generation to do the same. Now, let me warn you today’s message is going to be challenging. Odds are you who are married will be challenged and have your toes stepped on a bit. Please don’t shoot the messenger. I am a pastor, but truly I am just the messenger and the message has already been written. It is my duty to share with you, God’s people, God’s Word.
Husbands should be just as loving to their wives when they are not respectful as they are when they are being respectful. Why? Because our love should be as steady as Christ’s love for us. Wives should be submissive and respectful even if their husbands are not being loving. Why? Because your love is based on doing so as to Christ.

The Christian Marriage – part 1
The Christian Marriage - part 1
The divorce rate is over 50% with hardly any difference amongst Christian couples. How can this be? A Christian marriage is supposed to be different. Why? Because we realize that marriage is not just a promise to another human, but it is a covenant that we have made to God. However, if we as Christians surround ourselves with the world, and worldly people, we ourselves begin to look and act like the world. If you want a Godly Faithful marriage, than don’t look to the world for what to do, and don’t get advice from your worldly friends. Seek Godly wisdom, seek godly counsel.
That is the Christian marriage, we are committed to God and to our spouses, and we will be faithful to the end. Couples who understand that, can rest in a deep trust in their marriage. They know that no matter what happens in life sickness, health, good times and the bad, they will still be together.
