1 Peter 4:1-6
January 06, 2019
Arm yourselves by embracing obedience to God no matter what the cost or the level of suffering and rejection that you might face. Salvation involves both right belief and right behavior; therefore, both should be emphasized. Peter reminds them again that they are not to live for human passions; instead, they should live for the will of God.
Time is important. Time is limited. Time should be spent wisely. Now that you have been saved by God, don’t use this limited, valuable time on earth to live in sin, but glorify God with your life. He says don’t live as you used to, he includes sin in general, but then list out sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.
When you don’t engage with others in sin, at first, they are surprised, but quite often their surprise turns to malign. However, we must remember that unbelievers are not the Judge, only God is the Judge of the living and the dead.
