Knowing the truth and living out the truth are something that we must all continually work on. Walking in the truth, as we have seen, is about your whole life. It is personal holiness, but it is also about your interactions with one another. As you walk, seek personal holiness, let your light shine before others, and strive to keep unity with fellow Christians.

Do you believe in the truth that John is referring to, the truth of the good news of Jesus Christ and what He has done to accomplish your salvation? If so, then you can be comforted that you have received grace, mercy and peace from God. If Christ is not who you trust in for salvation, then any grace, mercy, or peace that you may think you have is only an illusion. Repent, and believe in the truth today.

God gives elders to churches to help shepherd His flock. This is the normative manner of church structure that we see in the Bible. Also, don’t view God’s sovereignty in election as something bad. Early Christians found this doctrine to be a great source of peace for their soul and we should as well.

April 26, 2020 The facts of the Christian faith are important, because they have been given to us by God. As John ends his letter, he calls us to remember who Jesus is and who we are as children of God. This was great comfort for their souls then, as well as ours today. Thank you for listening. April 19, 2020 Do you ever feel like your prayers are not being heard by God? Most every Christian has had times or seasons where they felt a lack of confidence in prayer. Whether or not you feel like your prayers are being heard by God or not, the fact of the matter God’s word that your prayers are always heard by God. What does confidence in prayer look like in your life? You do not have to work ourselves up to an emotional high to pray, nor do you have to work to get God’s attention, nor do we have to repeat ourselves over and over to get Him to hear you. We can simply pray and trust that He hears us. Thank you for listening. The Church at Pecan Creek is in Denton, Texas. We invite you to join us each Sunday at 10 AM. The water, the blood, and the Spirit are called upon to give the believers rest, comfort, and assurance that they truly have eternal life. The same comfort that these believers received from the words of John, we should receive as well. Do you have eternal life? Do these three witnesses come to your defense, or do they speak against you? If you hear these truths and find rest, take great comfort by what they say you, “You have eternal life.” If today you hear of these witnesses, and realize for the first time that you hear them speaking and you agree with their words, then do as the scriptures command, repent and believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God. All who have been born of God have overcome this world because Christ has overcome this world. This is not just pie in the sky thinking, but it had better be reflected in your daily life. Does your life reflect that you have overcome the enslavement of your sinful nature to this sinful world? If you are born of God, you will: Believe that Jesus is who He says He is, love God the Father, love His children, be obedient to Him, and overcome this sinful world. Thank you for listening.
