The Love of God

The Love of God

October 6, 2019

There is absolutely no reason, in and of ourselves, that God should love us. There is nothing that any human has ever done to deserve the love of God. The ultimate expression of God’s love is that Jesus died for us. We love God because He first loved us. God’s love is always prior. God’s love for those who are His, will never end. It is based on the person and work of Jesus Christ, and not on us. God’s love will cause you to desire to obey His commands, to model God’s love to others, and should cause thankfulness beyond expression. Thank you for listening. The Church at Pecan Creek is located in Denton, Texas. We invite you to join us each Sunday at 10 AM. For more information visit our website, http://www.thechurchatpecancreek.com.

    The Patience of God

    September 29, 2019

The patience of God is the excellency which causes Him to sustain great insult without immediately avenging Himself. It is directly connected to His mercy and grace. Just because God does not immediately pour out His wrath upon sinners does not mean that He never will. God is not weak in His patience; He is strong in His patience. Human anger is most often due to our own weak ability to control our thoughts and emotions. However, God has full power over all things, including Himself. Unbeliever, don’t presume upon God’s mercy by abusing His patience. It will come to an end. Believer, thank God for his patience with you and reflect God’s patience with others. Thank you for listening. The Church at Pecan Creek is located in Denton, Texas. We invite you to join us each Sunday at 10 AM. The Holiness of God

    September 22, 2019

God is holy, people are not. You will face this Holy God as a sinner or as a saint. For the one who faces the holiness of God with their sin, it will be holy terror. But, for the one who faces the holiness of God with their sin removed, robed in the righteousness of Christ, it will be glorious. Thank you for listening. The Wrath and Justice of God

    September 15, 2019

God is perfectly just and every sinner will receive the wrath of God for all of eternity. God has also provided a way for Him to remain just, punish sin, and provide salvation. The Trinity

    September 8, 2019

The biblical doctrine of the Trinity is being quickly lost among modern professing Christians. The outcome is a multitude of false beliefs about God. Without an understanding of the Trinity, it is impossible to make sense of much of the Bible. Without an understanding of the Trinity, believers are left susceptible to creating their own view of God that is not Biblical. Thank you for listening. The Immutability of God

    September 1, 2019

We are studying who God says that He is, but is it possible that God might change who He is? Is it possible that we could spend all of this time getting to know God only to find out that He is not like that anymore? The good news is, that God has revealed that He is immutable, without change. As a Christian, we are not immutable, but our God is, and this should affect you in a very personal manner Thank you for listening. The Church at Pecan Creek is located in Denton, Texas. The Omnipresence of God

    August 25, 2019

Where is God? Everywhere. What does this mean for us? For the non-Christian, great fear, for God has seen and sees every sin you have ever committed. Every sin that has ever been committed has been done in the presence of God. For the Christian:
    1. Great comfort - As David found in Psalm 23 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
    2. Purity of life -  We should not believe that God is everywhere yet live as though He is nowhere. Knowing what we know about God, should have an effect on our lives. Theology is not just for the brain; it is for real life.

The Omnipotence of God, Part 5

     August 18, 2019

The One who has given us eternal life is also the One whose power guarantees our eternal life. As we have studied God’s omnipotence, we have been reminded that God is infinitely more powerful than anything in His creation. God accomplishes all of His holy will, and that will is the preservation of all whom He has regenerated. Thank you for listening. The Church at Pecan Creek is located in Denton, Texas. The Omnipotence of God, Part 4

The Omnipotence of God, Part 4

    August 11, 2019

We are often quick to ascribe omnipotence to God over some of His creation, but not all of it, particularly over ourselves. However, it is important for us to recognize that there is only One who is all-powerful and that One is God. Do our choices matter? Yes. Is God sovereign over all of His creation and even us? Yes. Can you ever resolve this fully in your mind? I don’t think so. It appears to be in a category of information that remains only in the mind of God, and that is okay. The Apostle Paul acknowledges that God’s wisdom is far above ours and praises Him for it. Thank you for listening. The Church at Pecan Creek is located in Denton, Texas. The Omnipotence of God, Part 3

    July 21, 2019

God is all-powerful, even over Satan and Demons. Think about what this means for us. There is nothing, no one, no power, anywhere, at any time that can get to you without the permission of God. Thank you for listening. The Church at Pecan Creek is located in Denton, Texas. We invite you to join us each Sunday at 10 AM.
