The Basics

​

The Church at Pecan Creek is a multi-generational, family-integrated congregation that seeks to love God and love one another as Christ has loved us. Our church started to be a place where the Word of God could be unapologetically proclaimed. We do not strive to be cutting-edge, but instead strive to be a church that is faithful to the Scripture.

Our worship is Christ-centered and lyrically scrutinized to ensure that we worship God in spirit and truth. We sing hymns, psalms, and newer songs as well. We do not sing songs that stem from churches with false doctrine (Bethel, Hillsong, Elevation, etc.). We are not a “seeker-friendly” church, as our time together is not designed for the world but for Christians.

Our sermon time is expositional and is meant to equip the believer. We believe that Scripture is breathed out by God and should be heavily relied upon in our gatherings to nourish believers and convict sinners.

 

Though we have great elders, we also encourage all of our members to be actively involved in ministering to one another. We are not a sit, be entertained, and leave type of church.  We encourage corporate watchfulness, fellowship, and exhortation of one another.  The church is the body of Christ, and a healthy church is one in which all of its members are striving to fulfill their God-given duties.

We are both reformed and Baptist. We only baptize those who profess belief in Christ and repentance of sin. 

 

By focusing on God’s Word, we hope to help people know what to believe, why they believe it, how to share it, and how to live it. God has given us His Word, and we believe it is of the utmost importance to all we do. In this age of relativism, we must stay centered on God’s truth, and that is what we strive to do as a church and as individuals.
