The Gospel

The content of the gospel must be proclaimed continuously. God became a man in Jesus, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross, thus fulfilling the law himself and taking on himself the punishment for the sins of all those who would ever turn from their sin and trust in him. He rose again from the dead, showing that God accepted Christ’s sacrifice and that God’s wrath against us had been exhausted. He now calls us to repent of our sins and trust in Christ alone for our forgiveness.

By focusing on God’s Word, we hope to help people know what to believe, why they believe it, how to share it, and how to live it. God has given us His Word, and we believe it is of the utmost importance to all we do. In this age of relativism, we must stay centered on God’s truth, and that is what we strive to do as a church and as individuals.

Evangelizing

Being equipped with the gospel and sound doctrine should increase one’s desire to proclaim the saving message of Christ to others. We are commanded by God to spread the good news. Therefore, it is our duty, honor, and great privilege to proclaim this good news to others. We must never forget that “the gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).

Sound Doctrine

There is a theological famine in our land, and the only way to stop the starvation is a steady supply of God’s Word to his people. It is extremely important for Christians to develop true beliefs about man, sin, God, Jesus, judgment, and more. We believe the answer is to focus on what God has revealed in his Word. We do this as a congregation, in small groups, and also encourage the daily private reading of the Bible.

Covenant Membership

There are ten core beliefs and practices of the church that its members agree to uphold. We believe church membership is a big deal. It is far more than joining a gym or club. The local church is where local people commit to growing, supporting, and being held accountable.

Holiness of Life

As believers, we are called out by God and are supposed to live and be people who fight against their sin and pursue Christ by loving him and living as he has commanded.

Church Discipline

Church discipline is the act of correcting sin in the life of the body, including the possible final step of excluding a professing Christian from membership in the church and participation in the Lord’s Supper because of serious, unrepentant sin.

Family

The family is the primary means of transferring Christian beliefs and practices to the next generation. We call on parents to take this role seriously and not to expect only the church to be responsible for all things spiritual.

Diversity

All people are created in the image of God. We hope to be a body of believers that reflects that belief through the diversity of our congregation.

Historic

Our church is new but is rooted in historic Christianity. We do not desire to isolate ourselves from the church of the past but to unite with it in belief and practice.
